The Myth of Perfection - A Love Poem to the Raw

by Bassaco - Bassaco Village Journal, November 2025

It’s been a while since I’ve let these puffy clouds float freely.
I’ve felt a world of words wanting to escape onto invisible pages,
unwritten songs with last year’s melodies capturing nothing of what has truly occurred.

Decades of my life lived to date.
Big gaping holes. Opaque and also full.
Colourful with streaks of black and textures almost impossible to describe.
Wide, long miles of memory stretching with experience, dreams, loss and recovery.
Today is the day I picked to finally allow the words to ascend and imagine their once revered glory.
It’s Venus day, and Fridays are now made for the love of being and poetic re-discovery.

Perfectionism is a quiet death that silences the living breath of creation.
I’m learning everyday that music alchemy is literally born in the mess and wobbly vocals, the raw sounds, the truth still sticky with emotion..

The womb’s creative current spirals, bleeds, dissolves, + rebirths her way into sound.
An ancient code awakens when we allow our movements and voices to meet worlds,
Grief hums through the hips. Desire sighs through the chest. Shame releases through the vocal chords.

Remembering our bodies as instruments
and our art as a divinely cultivated process that is so yummy and indulgent in the best way

If you’ve been feeling the sensation of being creatively blocked, these are often the light nudges of your inner artist:

  • You’ve been holding back tears or truths for quite a while.

  • You feel the need to be “ready” before you create.

  • You compare your raw art to others’ complete or “polished” outcomes.

  • You’re scared that your emotional depth will make you “too much.”

  • You’ve forgotten that creation itself is the ultimate healing.

Your art can be fully expressed without needing to impress by external standards.
Let it breathe, moan, wobble, weep and most importantly, let it live.

Womb-led artistry is at work here.
The pulse of your essence, translated through sound and movement,
birthing itself into form over and over again.

Join me for the Live DJENARA Q&A on 15th November (This Saturday)
We will be exploring this living, breathing rhythm of fem. creativity and all your simmering questions about this path answered | (6 Free Spaces for that)

Also, stay close for the first in-person DJENARA Ceremony now arriving in the new year, February 2026!

Your voice is the prayer, sis and your art is more than enough.

The Womb’s Hidden Choir: When Creativity Feels Silent.

by Bassaco - Bassaco Village Journal, October 2025

I’ve been in this ‘creativity’ game for a while, intimately observing it’s motions. The seasons when our creative flow feels like wild river, and the times when it disappears into the ground, quiet, unseen and waiting for remembrance.

When our beloved creativity feels distant, it’s rarely because the muse has left us for dead (although it may feel like it)
Most of the time, it’s because our emotional body,  especially the womb (our living oracle) is bogged down by unexpressed memories + stories.
Grief, shame, heartbreak, ancestral echoes..
They pile up like silt at the bottom of the river stream, soft yet heavy, muffling the sound of our soul..

This month, I found myself dropping into that silence.
Day after day I tried to create something but my body felt slower and extra heavy. I couldn’t quite pin point this lag and sluggish feeling..

Until one night, I lay down with my hand over my womb and let myself feel the full ache that was waiting for me.
My intention was not to try and fix it, I just listened. And listened some more
And in that listening, like the first lyrics of a verse, a vision appeared…

A white sandy beach. Twilight.
Three mothers dressed in all black.
They placed a white dove in my hands and asked me to release it above the ocean.
When I finally did, the bird rose effortlessly, and the heaviness lifted from my chest, foggy matter dissolving into light.
I cried big girl wails, literally singing my tears down and i couldn't stop

I did eventually stop and in the calm I realised something ancient moved through me.
I felt the need to sway my hips, so I did, my breath turned melodic - sighs, moans, fragments of melody escaping efforlessly.
I call this the beginnings of music alchemy: when the emotions move through the body, and the voice translates them into sound.
movement and the melody merge and healing becomes a living, breathing art form.

I’ve seen the term womb-led artistry flying all over the internets lately but I love the phrasing because it distinctly describes what I’m talking about - the remembering of creativity from its native origins. Allowing the feminine to lead the flow. Feminine music rising from the pulse of your body itself.

When Creativity Feels Blocked

Many women I meet tell me they feel “creatively blocked.”
But when we journey deeper, what they often discover is the thing blocking their innate ideas is a dam built from old emotional residue. Sis has been backed up for way too long..

You might feel this when:

  • Your voice wobbles when you try to sing, speak, or share an undeniable truth.

  • You hesitate to begin projects out of fear they won’t meet the standard/expectation you set up in your head

  • Your body feels numb or disconnected in your creative process.

  • You find yourself doing the comparison thing - comparing art to others (esp. other women) and shrinking in response.

  • You feel a undercurrent of grief after relationships, performances, or creative endings that you never fully mourned.

  • You crave expression but feel unusually tired or uninspired when you sit down to create (something..anything!).

These are the whispers of unprocessed emotion, the body’s gentle call to return to presence.
A soft invitation to begin healing and breaking down the detrimental aspects of “productivity”.

How movement + sound can heal you

Take that first slow move - your hips rolling, shoulders swaying - allowing your voice to follow…something quite miraculous occurs.
Your body starts to speak the language it was never allowed to.
Sighs become release, your humming is now a prayer, the anxious wobbles become rhythmic.

Music alchemy lives in the space between sound and sensation.
It’s what I strongly believe turns shame, grief, distorted silence into art, melody, and your true voice.

Every time you sing while you move, the womb stirs, waking her bliss up.
She remembers that she was made to yes, hold life but also to create worlds.
Coming back to the roots of feminine music is meeting with the unpolished, raw, alive current of creativity that moves through us when we finally stop trying to control every little thing.

The Myth of “Having Your Shxt Together”

Alot of us  artists and creative healers believe our work must be refined before it’s worthy of being seen and experienced.
But the soul really wants your honesty.
You can say the most truthful thing with the wobbly voice.

The intention from a lick of paint can hold more magic than the finished masterpiece because its presence and very existence is what makes creation holy as heaven

You and and your art doesn't need to be all the way ready for an audience to be real and read to receive you. You existing, you being is more than enough to be felt.  In essence, thats that womb-led artistry at play here.

A Special Invite

This coming November, we gather again at the altar of DJENARA - a ceremonial initiation into music alchemy and womb-sourced expression.
It’s for the women who are ready to sit and move with the silence through sound, let their grief become the seed of beauty, and to remind themselves that their voice is the doorway to truly feeling free.

If you feel the quiet pull in your belly after taking all this in, you are already being called.
Let us sing the unsung as one heart.

And for my sisters who feel ready to journey deeper - next year, the 1:1 NAYEMA journey opens its gates to six women who are down to birth their creative bodies of work from the womb outward.
Almost a whole year of music, movement, and rebirth.

This path, this kind of rhythm leaves perfection behind
And calls us to remember that the sacred lives inside you, waiting to be expressed in devotion.

7 Signs Your Inner Girl is Crying Out to Create

by Bassaco - Bassaco Village Journal, September 2025

The inner girl lives on within.
Younger than your current years, softer than your armour,

wilder than your discipline.

She remembers when creativity was her natural way of being.

She recalls songs spilling out freely, dancing her feels, moving seasons aboard her body.

Your inner girl lives on within you.
When she is hushed, ignored, or exiled, you damn well feel it.
Baby woman, she’s not gone, she cries out for you through sound, the body, the stirring dreams.
The question is: are you listening?

Here are a few ways she might be calling you back:

1. You feel restless in silence

Whenever you stop moving, scrolling, producing - she stirs. The stillness feels unbearable because you know if you take a pause, her voice will rise. She wants you to stop long enough to hear her heartbeat again.

2. Your emotions come in waves, difficult to explain

Crying out of nowhere, laughing at random times, sudden bursts of anger or desire. She is not trying to disrupt you, She is just asking to please feel her. She wants her emotional weather to be honoured and seen as they are.

3. You have a secret yearning to sing, hum, or moan

Even if you don’t call yourself a singer, your body wants to make sound. In the shower. In the car. While cooking. These are all attempts to remind you that your voice is magick honey.

4. Dance calls to you when no one is watching

The urge to sway in the kitchen, roll your hips while folding laundry, or stretch your body in ways that feel yummy and sensual. She wants movement that is for her, a dance that belongs to your womb, for your eyes only.

5. You feel unseen, even when you’re doing everything “right”

TBH, you can tick off responsibilities, meet all of the deadlines, keep the peace. Yet there’s a quiet ache of invisibility. That’s her longing to be expressed fully, the filters of productivity or perfection left behind.

6. You are absolutely tired of being “palatable”

Perhaps you, like me, have spent years shaping yourself to be acceptable, digestible, cute, sweet and friendly to appease everyone's appetite. But in doing so, you disconnected from your essence. She’s done with palatability… she wants truth, raw and untamed.

7. You crave the rich, organic, deep kind of beauty

Beauty that emerges from within and goes beyond consumption and decoration. She is begging for the natural beauty that rises when you create - when your pain turns into melody, desires into rhythm and joy that bursts into colour.

When these signs show up, these are invitations to explore and play with..

Your inner girl wants to sing through your body. She wants to moan her grief, laugh her joy, sigh her relief. She wants your hips to move her stories, your hands to carve her shapes, your voice to resound with her honesty.

I’ve realised that this is literally the heart of DJENARA - the prayerformance portal where sound, movement, and ancestral presence guide us back to her.
Here, nothing is wrong with you girly. The trauma, the flaws, the desires - all of it is welcomed as music.

When your inner girl is given space to sound and dance herself, she alchemises by turning silence into song, pain into rhythm, and longing into movement. She’s recollecting her natural state of wholeness and healing.

Final Reflection

So, final Q -  Again, have you listened to her lately?
The girl who hums inside you, the girl who moves uninhibited and refuses to be shushed into controlled silence.

She is a part of your muse mosaic and blueprint.
Always waiting for you to hear her.

**The next DJENARA ceremony is opening in November. A chance to let your inner girl sing and dance you back home. Invites coming v. soon (Subscribe to Join The Tribe)**

The Spiral of Sound & Sensuality

by Bassaco - Bassaco Village Journal, August 2025

Here are some questions to savour…

When was the last time you let your womb lead the way? The raw pulse that beats inside your belly, below the head and the expressions that make you more digestible and polite. The voice that won’t be silenced, no matter how many masks you’ve worn.

A pulse that won’t always sit still. She spirals upward. First she stirs the heart - swelling old griefs, softening you to love, carving space for desire. And when you let her rise again, she presses against the throat - your voice, truth and your sound. It can be described as a circuit. Womb to heart to throat. The living current of your artistry and power source.

On this often tumultuous journey of reconnection, I’ve come to understand that eros is a lot more than a costume you wear for the world. Eros can be prayer. Eros can be the sway of your hips when no one’s watching. Eros can also be breath turned into vibration, spine arching like a vine, lips parting for the sound that wants to come through...

I truly feel that our ancient grandmothers were clued up on this in their bodies.. The herstory buried under manicured versions of the truth…the ones whose bloodlines we carry, who potentially honoured the Venus path and listened to their own rhythms, moved at the pace of rivers and fire, ticking to their own internal clocks. They sang into water vessels, out into the wind, upon the bones of the land.

Sis…don’t you think you carry that same remembering?

I’ll lovingly ask again with my heart, are you over the plight of chasing inspiration out there and all about sourcing it from the holy trinity of your womb, heart + spirit?

how many more times will you keep shaving your edges, silencing the pulse that only you were born to possess?

I’m sure you already know what I’m gonna say.. Your womb already knows the answer. This is where eros and artistry join forces as one.

The portal of Djénara™ opens next Friday (5th September) - a virtual prayerformance for 8 women (4 spaces remaining!) ready to remember the sound of their own essence. 90 mins. of pure soulful sonic discoveries.

Ticket Price - £44. Book Here.

Join us, I just know that your soul sound is on the brink of rediscovery.

Unveiling the Inner Sound: When Feminine Music Alchemy Becomes a Ritual of Remembrance

by Bassaco - Bassaco Village Journal, July 2025

I’ve spent so many years in hiding.

Hiding the truth that trembled at the curve of my lips.
Swallowing down the real things I longed to say with my music, body and movement.
I definitely moulded myself to be palatable enough not to spoil anyone's appetite.

And it damn near starved me of my essence.

What I’ve come to now understand through this sacred process of creative reclamation is that
True artistry is birthed without technique, formal training or perfect execution.
It is conceived in the hidden chambers of the womb,  the places we’ve silenced, shamed, and sugar-coated.
The still space where you stop performing like a circus animal and start remembering.

For a long time, I always thought I had to separate my sensuality from my sound. My erotic truth from my art.
Either be soft or powerful, but not both.

Until I found myself one dusky afternoon, swaying slowly in my room to no music at all.
Only my breath and the hum of something ancient and familiar stirring within...

Then it began..

A sound that felt like it was coming forth from the pulse of something sacred moving through me started to bubble..
I let it move up from the floor of my womb, pass through the tides of my heart, and open my throat as a sunrise surprise.

And when I allowed myself to meet myself there and stop curating my creativity and start consecrating it - everything changed.

My eroticism ignited new desires. My sound, a truth-telling tool and my voice began to feel like my own.

The power of creative alchemy and music birthed from the feminine soul-body is as real as roses, and it can feel like this.

A sacred architecture of artistry that feels alive when it is womb-led, soul-fed, and ancestrally-charged.

Inside the prayerformance portal of DJENARA™, this is the very experience we will awaken.
A space where your sensitivities are welcomed as blessings,  we raise your unfiltered truth through embodied expression, and your voice calls your magick home.

It’s a portal for all the parts you silenced or shut away…where your soul, your ancestors, and the Divine meet you in your raw, melodic true essence.

And I invite you to take your first step into this remembering at our upcoming

DJENARA™ virtual prayerformance event on 5th September 2025,

from 7 pm to 8.30 pm.

An intimate experience for 8 women dreamers, artists and self-proclaimed musicians ready to unveil the sound that lives deep inside - your essence, frequency and sensual sovereignty.

No instruments involved and most definitely no perfection necessary. Just your presence and devotion.

Ticket: £24-£48.

Your voice as your personal portal.

Book your space and come back home to your soul's sound.

An Organic music restoration and the return to your divine composition.

My love, DJENARA™, lives inside you. Remember that x

Your Voice Is the Portal: A Return to Feminine Music Alchemy Through DJENARA™

I’ve noticed over and over again that there’s this moment in every artist's journey where silence feels a lot less like peace and more like suppression. A stillness that doesn’t nourish, but instead stifles progress. If you’ve ever felt the ache of having so much to say, so much to sing, but no safe place to FEEL it first, then you, my dear, are most definitely not alone in this.

This September 5th, my signature modality DJENARA™ debuts for a sacred, 90-minute virtual event unlike anything else: a prayerformance ritual for womb-sourced women, artists and musicians ready to unlock the frequency of their true, unfiltered inner sound.

Friday 5th September | 8 spaces only | 7.00 - 8.30pm BST

We are zoning IN on the art of resonance.

This interpretation of feminine music is not born in the studio or rehearsal spaces - it begins in the womb, in the breath + the belly of your true story. In DJENARA™, we remember how our body has always been the first instrument and source of inspiration. Our intuition the primordial rhythm and our inner voice, the first prayer.

The Sacred Architecture of Artistry: Where Feminine Flow Meets Devotional Sound

What happens when a woman stops editing herself and starts listening instead? Not to the world’s expectations or push for technical profieciency - but to the waves within her own body?

The truth is, artistry for most womben does not start with productivity or in the brain. It begins with presence. With sensation. With the erotic throb of inspiration that visits like a warm blush when something touches you that deep..

True feminine music is born from here.

In DJENARA™, I offer you a space to:

  • Move sensually and slowly, without choreography or pressure, letting your hips and shoulders tell the truth your mouth forgot.

  • Sound from your womb space, without melody or perfection, discovering what it actually feels like to be your own instrument.

  • Be genuinely witnessed, for pure remembrance of your true soul sound.

This is your chance to meet the parts of yourself still too shy to sing and love them back into harmony.

Why This Matters Now

We live in a world obsessed with outcome. But the feminine path of artistry does not need to rush. she curves, spirals in and out of herself and listens to the subtleties then ripens when she’s good and ready.

Many of us have survived some sort of creative block, sexual trauma, burnout, or spiritual numbness - and somewhere along the way, we began to shreek at our own fire. We started associating our creativity with effort, our sensuality with shame and our voice as this dangerous weapon that needs to be detonated.

DJENARA™ is the gentle, guided return.
Not necessarily to who you used to be, but to the innate sound that has always lived within you, untainted, waiting to be sung.

Consider this as the warm-up, the sacred ignition.

What to Expect at the September 5th Prayerformance

Embodied Opening Ritual: Ground into your sacred space with breath, gentle movement, and invocation
Womb-Sourced Sound Journey: Guided vocal exploration with no external music—just you, your body, your truth
Sensual Movement Ceremony: Flow-based dance experience to stir the creative waters and awaken the muse within
Collective Prayerformance Activation: A final closing circle where our voices and movements weave together in communal release and reclamation

Your very own ceremonial concert from the comforts of your home..

If You’re Feeling the Pull

Maybe you haven’t sung in years.
Maybe you write songs in the notes app but never share them.
Maybe you dance in your mirror and feel silly about it.

But maybe you’re also ready. To feel it again. To return...

You don’t need to be trained.
No need to even sound “good” (Hello, you’re good enough)
You just need to come as you are, and let your soul do the sounding.

DJENARA™ comes at a time where feminine artistry and remembrance IS the revolution

Book your place now –  8 spaces only – [2 for 1 Tickets Available]

I cannot wait to sing with you,

With a well of love and reverence x

::Womb-Led Artistry Is a Healing Path

by Bassaco - Bassaco Village Journal, June 2025

In my own deepening of this path and practice, I’ve noticed that so many artists, musicians, creatives - especially women - have been disconnected from their erotic source.

We’ve literally been trained and conditioned to master, refine and control everything that comes out of us.
And while there’s beauty in the sacred masculine aspects of creativity - structure, rhythm, finesse - I believe it can’t come before the feminine.
It just can’t lead.

Because what you create from suppressing your truth will never carry the same frequency as what you create from embodiment, presence and power.

That’s why womb-sourced musicianship and music alchemy is a return to something organic
Remembering that it has always been your birthright to channel beauty, stories, sensuality, and healing trauma through your heArt.

I’m not interested in being “sexy” for the sake of shock value or attention

I’m on reclaiming the erotic as sacred, creative life-force that can be considered the same life-force that moves galaxies and babies and jazz chords and belly laughs and all the moans in the same breath. You get me ??

If this is something you truly feel in your womb as you read this, take a leap of knowing:

Right now, I’m opening up Free 1:1 soul consultations (Update: Limited Spaces until whenever I feel called).

To reiterate, this is for women artists, musicians, and creatives who are:

  • Struggling with creative blocks and want to reconnect to their flow
  • Ready to heal their voice and expression after trauma
  • Longing to feel turned-on by their art again
  • Curious about music alchemy as a sacred healing path
  • Feeling the call to create from soul

No sales pitches, just a sacred conversation.
If the Muse moves through us, and it’s a match, I’ll invite you into a One-Off Session Annointing The Muse OR NAYEMA, my 9-month 1:1 Soul Co-creation.

But regardless, you’ll leave feeling more connected, more witnessed, and more U.

🌸 Book your free 1:1 session here

You are such a divine instrument, sis
And your womb remembers how to sing.

::Why Singing and Dancing at the Same Time Is a Sacred Feminine Technology (Beyond The Vibes):

How Feminine Music Alchemy Awakens Erotic Flow & Ancestral Memory for the Creatively Blocked Woman Artist

You know those moments when you're in your living room, hips swaying slow, voice humming raw? When the melody moves through you before you even know the words? You know them ones?!

Big releasings and waves of remembrance. The sacred, sensual form of womb alchemy signaling that your body already knows.

And yet… in a world that divorced the sacred out of the arts, so many women artists are left wondering why their creativity feels dull, numb, caged. Especially those of us who feel more than most - the mystics, the musical priestesses, the ones who speak in soul and sound.

I want to share something true, a little tender, and so overlooked:
When you sing and dance at the same time without the need of a crowd or an applause, but purely  for your own restoration, it becomes Prayerformance.

A return to the original lingo of your soul.

This is our homecoming..

We’re not brushing things off this time and hoping there is a magic wand that can fix it all in one wave.
I’m talking about the kind that begins unfreezing what trauma locked down in your creative core.

Here’s the thing - sexual or relational trauma lives in the body, but so does liberation. And when we sing while moving - especially in slow, erotic, intentional motions - we open up a portal. One where voice, rhythm, and memory entwine to melt shame, awaken innocence, and remind us that our bodies are still holy.

Tbh, Western science is just catching up to this wisdom.
Neurobiology tells us that rhythm regulates the nervous system.
Somatics shows us how voice vibrations stimulate the vagus nerve.
But long before labs + white coats, our grandmothers have BEEN knowing:

Sound is a gateway. Movement is medicine. Together, they’re a spell.

(aka Feminine Music Alchemy)

This is why I get so passionate about Bassaco Village representing this signature ‘modality’ (if you will), "Prayerformance" (new name soon come!) as way more than an onstage performance but more like a portal. A ritual celebration of return.

For the Woman Artist Who Feels Like Her Light Went Out

If you’re reading this and feel like you’ve lost your fires - like your creativity dried up, or your desire to express yourself dissolved into dust - Please remember this:

You’re not broken
You’re buried.
And girly, I see the glimmer still in you.

I’ve literally danced and sung my way through grief, rage, numbness, and deep shame. I’ve felt the silence after assault. I’ve known the paralysing terror of being seen again. And I’ve also felt my ancestors hold me mid-spin, mid-chant, mid-tear.

It’s all about presence.

Singing while dancing wakes up what words alone can’t touch. It’s an act of erotic rebellion and a prayer draped in movement. Another way of saying: I still belong to myself.

So if your voice feels stuck, your movements feel mechanical, and the music in you feels too far gone to retrieve, I invite you to begin again, slowly, sacredly.

Let yourself be seen in it. Because something delish awaits on the other side of your first real woosahhh.

You are creatrix, an altar and your art is aching to remember you.

I’m opening 8 free 1:1 consultation spaces until the end of June to support women like you - mystical creatives, musical priestesses, and soul singers ready to unblock their truth and restore their erotic essence through Prayerformance.

Book your free consultation here or Contact Us directly.

Let’s sing and dance your way back to the heat, together. x

::Why Prayerformance Is the Ancient Future of Feminine Music

by Bassaco - Bassaco Village Journal, May 2025

Let's chat about something that’s been whispered through the bones of our grandmothers for centuries but often gets drowned out in the noise of modern “self-help” and “feminine embodiment” trends.

The truth is: feminine creativity has never just been about productivity, performance, or being “seen.” It’s about remembrance. Reclamation. Ritual. Soul-deep connection to something older, wilder, wiser.

At Bassaco Village, our signature path of Music Alchemy is a lot more than a pretty blend of art and healing - it’s an ancient technology wrapped in rhythm, sensuality, and sacred fires. Rooted in African ancestral feminine lore, Prayerformance is what happens when womben return to the medicine of musical arts as both prayer and performance - an embodied rite of passage rather than a perfected showcase.

You see, for many women artistes, the real block isn’t lack of talent.

Yesss, you guessed it. It’s trauma. Disconnection. The subtle (and sometimes loud) fear that your truth is “too much.” That your voice will be misunderstood. That your art will expose parts of you you were taught to hide.

This is where the ancient meets the somatic.

Science is catching up to what our people always knew: trauma lives in the body. So does liberation. When you sing, chant, move, drum, sound - especially in ceremonial spaces - it stimulates your vagus nerve, softens your nervous system, and helps regulate the very parts of you that hold creative power hostage.

But we don’t stop at the science, let's take it deeper...

African feminine mystery traditions tell us that sound is a gateway between worlds. That the voice, when used with intention and devotion, is a form of spiritual technology that unlocks memory, rewires identity, and channels ancestral wisdom straight from the womb.

In our Feminine Music Alchemy journeys, we go beyond performing and fully transform.

Through guided ritual, prayerformance, storytelling, and sonic devotion, we create spaces where women can release shame, awaken erotic innocence, and be witnessed in their raw, divine essence. No masks. No perfection. Just soul and sound, woven into something deeply alive.

This work is for the women artistes who knows there’s more to her gift than just technique or aesthetics. It’s for the creative who’s been told she’s too sensitive, too wild, too spiritual, too deep. It’s for the ones who long to feel themselves again -  in their bones, breath, and being.

And it’s not about “fixing” you - it’s about helping you remember that nothing was ever broken.

So if your voice has felt stuck, your creativity caged, or your body too numb to feel the juice of your artistry, know this: there is a way back.

And it doesn’t involve bypassing your pain or abandoning your pleasure.

It involves singing your way home.

Let’s collaborate on this path back home together.

::The "Empty Temple" Initiation

by Bassaco - Bassaco Village Journal, April 2025

Our very first event this month happened to be an “empty temple” initiation for me. I spiritually took it as more time alone in a new space to release the grief of my past and the dense sadness of feeling not good enough to experience what I truly desired. No one turned up and I was one with my Magick. Instead of packing up shop and going home with the disappointment and embarrassment bubbling inside, I pushed forward and I was determined to complete the process of going first and showing up, heart open and trusting my guides and the divine for whatever the outcome will be.

The women who were meant to be there physically were on the same day dealing with eviction, sickness and severe burn-out from life just life-ing and I was creating art out of ritual presence, singing my soul out and whining my waist for them in spirit. I could already FEEL them in the space and confirmation via messages post the event was evidence that they could feel the potent, indescribable shifts too.

I truly got a sense of what it feels like to release the attachment to success validated by external results. As affirming as it can be, it is by no means the crème de la crème, especially on the path to anchoring your ancestral Woman wisdom via ritual art and music magick.. that shit ain’t nothing linear and far from inferior to the lies we have been lead to believe about creation and manifestation as women.

I stepped into the space in awe of the welcoming presence it held and a surprising wave of joy washed over me because I knew I had taken a quantum leap into my purpose and showed up for myself more than I ever have since birthing this experience.

I went from sensual soft tones, slowly swaying, easing my way into the portal to raspy seductive roars.. completely lost in the moment of deep rapture, at the very centre of the void, relinquishing control as my body and the sensations lead the way.

This was what my soul needed at that moment. I gained the internal trust to make a decision and follow through on something my heart was calling forth with the lessons of refinement that will catapult this sacred mission and the women I'm here to serve much more deeply into their creative power and sensual magick. So all in all, it was a success in my eyes and I feel so honoured and still so excited to create and nurture a community where these kinds of transformations are possible for the women desiring to feel safe in their bodies and express their soul essence through creativity.

Be on the lookout for our next ceremony in May! It would be a joy to witness your blossoming and hold you as you begin to re-discover your body's wisdom and your unique creative prowess desiring to be unveiled.

::A Poem: What Else Can I Heal?

The bellows, the whining

For some of the waves

To pour out of me

The black and humid

The surprising, new triggers

 and old blood

Begin to sparkle

I’m used to feeling

And being a woman of

Water, love, fire and zeal

Now then,

What else can I heal?

::The Art of Being Felt & Held

To be seen and heard can be sweet especially if you’ve spent years in isolation, denying the things you love and censoring your big womban truths in fear of being side-eyed or cancelled.

However, Being deeply FELT by your true essence is in my opinion, the next evolved thing. It takes radical safety in the body to express your soul in a way that can be powerfully felt by you and those with the capacity to hold you in your full, messy glory.

This is one of the reasons why I want to serve our Prayerormance Art as a creative ritual to support you in exploring your “aura” in a way that gives you them yummy butterflies you get when you finally channel the song, story, painting or one-liner that truly expresses those unprocessed entities swimming in your tissues at a cellular level.

It’s a feeeeling you can cultivate and awaken once you have done the gentle magick of self-sourcing your sense of sovereign equilibrium by not abandoning yourself and feeling what IS, the fears/worries/terrors waiting for your undivided attention.

From that haven of letting your voice and body move how it wants to move, you can then become reacquainted with how your spiritual essence and erotic waves travel through your vessel.

A knowing sense that can be sniffed out from miles away (Virtually + IRL), like an intoxicating signature scent emanating from your pores, healing you and everyone who has the privilege of experiencing your soul’s creatrix lighthouse.

I know you know what I’m talking about and it’s a concept that is better experienced than can ever be observed or explained. This is what is possible for you when you transcend the need to be perceived according to someone else’s standard of being.

I can confidently say that our cocktail of sensuous music, dance and inner performance (transformation) in a ceremony of unbridled womanhood is the place to be if you have been seriously yearning to simmer and blossom as the lotus flower bomb anchored in your innate beauty and body’s rich sensitivities.

Contact us directly if you feel the call to be present at one of our intimate ceremonial experiences.

::What is Prayerformance Art?

A re-introduction to Bassaco Village as a Women's Sacred Music Collective & Arts House

by Bassaco - Bassaco Village Journal, January 2025

Prayerformance Art is the foundation of our delectable recipe, guiding Women’s path back to their creative power and taking up space in embodied loving presence. It is based on the artistic expression of vocal sound, music, sensual dance and live performance art because of the wonderful effects creativity, melodic frequencies, and somatic movement art have on regulating our nervous system responses and cultivating the spiritual energy of the womb space.

Honouring our divine essence as both physical and spiritual beings, it acts as a ritual for remembering our bodies' wisdom to be aware of dark truths and hidden desires and become an observer of the currents of emotions and erotic energy that move through our physical, energetic bodies. We consciously devote our presence to the vibrations from our voice that naturally transmute stagnancy dormant in our tissues, blocking flow and the juiciness of a woman embodying her authentic expression.

In other words,  it ignites the IDGAF how I look right now, I want to purr or roar my being to life because I have the power and support to do so type of fearlessness that our being craves to unleash.

The potent combination of using your unique vocal frequency and sense-fully contorting your body,  ritualising the mundane aspects of wombaning as an art form, is a compass for communicating your inner waters as they come up in the here and now. No more running or avoiding your real responses to trauma or reality’s hardships. It is your re-aligning elixir when external forces throw you off your throne, as pain and harsh constructs of conditioning often do.

This kind of Prayerformance Art is beautiful in its simplicity and intense in its capacity to help you confront where you are in the moment with the hands and hearts of other women coming together to witness each other heal through self-expression. A protected, dogma-free space as a reminder that your power is encrypted within your whole body, natural cycles and true essence. A gift that no one and no government can steal or replicate.

This is what our version of this modality is about. It is whatever you want it to be and a whole lot more.
